We love exploring the local area close to home. In the Eastern Bays we're fortunate to have a number of coastal walks to enjoy and this is one of our favourites, Tahuna Torea Nature Reserve - so dramatic with the tide out.
There are plenty of sunny pools to find crabs & shells and to warm our feet.
Looking back towards Glendowie & our 'burbs.
The end of the sand-spit...?
...not quite. But we're closer to Half-Moon Bay Marina across the estuary. At certain times, when the tide is really low, the ferries can't get in & a bus service operates - not quite sure how though.
Fighting back the crowds, we returned to Glendowie & the reserve. The lagoon is barely visible on the left.
