Small World

We had a boys day out and ended up at Monterey Park - a wonderful world in miniature. It's was part of the holiday treat for Theo who has been a top lad over the Easter break. Here are some of the highlights.

Where is the model train?

At last, alomost looks like the real thing.

Now it's time for us to hop onto the 'real' train.

Is this the model train or the real thing?

One of these buildings is real, can you guess which one?

Do at the Zoo

Kids love animals. So, go to the Zoo for a good conversation and some fabulous sunshine!

With their friends Charlotte, Mia and Patrick.

'Say something then...'

'These celery leaves are stuck in my teeth!'

'I can't wait, I'm doing my poo just here...'

'Say aargh...'

'Not another birthday card. That's 86 so far.'

'I hate Dulux!'

'Not another Disney contract, it's sooo boring!'

'At last, lunch has arrived.'

My Mates

It's the Easter break and time to hang out with new friends. The kids are making friends all the time, but some are becoming really special.

Here's Anna who has become very good friends with Yasmin.

Prenesh and Theo are like long lost brothers. Really nice to see them enjoying themselves together.

Theo with Darby who lives nearby.

Has Yasmin go a new fan?

Just Chillin'

When you know summer is coming to an end the best thing you can do is make the most of the sun while it shines. This is exactly what we did.

Cheap trip out building castles in the sand.

Forty winks... or was it four thousand?

Is it boat? Is it a plane???

All of this then go for a bike ride. Life just chillin'...

Good Friday 2007

We felt we all needed some 'family' time so decided to go for a walk on Auckland's North Shore. It was a beautiful day and some of us got a bit of sun stroke.

George on the stone footpath between Castor Bay and Mairangi Bay.

The waves slap over the stone path to soak any unsuspecting walkers. Of course, the kids loved it.

George reading about the alien invasion of Auckland in one of the trendy mags.

This is Auckland's version of 'lemming' trees

Some ultra cool couple on Kohimarama beach.

Theo hard at work on the latest of his many wonderful creations.

Towards the end of Summer

We're told that NZ really has only two seasons, summer and winter. Winter is mostly wet, but mild and summer is temperate and warm. So far the summer has indeed been temperate and warm so we can dust off the raincoats and prepare for the winter ahead. We'll keep you posted. We spent a little time at the St. Heliers Festival where there was an array of 'village' functions and activities. Below are some of the highlights.

Theo with his new best friend Pranesh.

These girls are belly dancing - what a sight!

Some stalls with everything from local art to homemade cakes.

Yasmin closing her smile having lost her two front teeth.

Roger on the beach trying to count the waves.

As you can see, the waves have disappeared.
